and Chartering
F.A. Vinnen & Co. presently operates a fleet of 9
modern container vessels.
The ships
are in possession of individual ships participation companies.
F.A. Vinnen & Co. and its shareholders own essential parts
of these companies. The ships are managed under a comprehensive
contract by F.A. Vinnen & Co. with the purpose of negotiating
profitable charter arrangements with the dominant international
shipping lines.
 The
operation of the vessels and the profitable chartering to the
shipping lines of the world are among the main tasks.
The vessels
are usually employed under time charter contracts with the big
container liner companies. In this F.A Vinnen & Co. takes advantage
of its long standing excellent contact and good personal relationships
to many of these liner companies world-wide.
In the past
30 years the Vinnen-vessels have sailed for almost all charterers
and through their excellent service, their high technical standard
and their reliability have built up a strong "goodwill" with
them. We help to fulfil the promises that our charterers give
to their clients.
 Thus
the Vinnen vessels have been employed in the liner services
of such well-known companies like MAERSK, P&O Nedlloyd,
MSC, CSAV, Hapag Lloyd, ZIM, NYK, CMA-CGM, Hanjin among many
others.
People know
and like the "Merkur"-vessels of F.A. Vinnen. This
guarantees the chance to secure good timecharter employment
and even in times of slow charter markets we are able to find
adequate employment for the tonnage that has been entrusted
to us.
The financially
successful managerment of the vessels is secured by a young
team at the companies headquarters in Bremen. Experienced manager
and competent engineers put in all their energy for the fleet
and the company. Our managing director is Michael Vinnen who
heads the company as the seventh generation in his family. Even
for Germany that is a very unusual proof of continuity. In 2001
he has taken over from his father Christel vinnen, who was responsible
of the company for the 40 years. Christel Vinnen still acts
as Senior Advisor to the company and offers his wealth of experience.
On board
of the vessels we rely on an excellent pool of experienced and
well educated officers and seamen who mostly work for Vinnen
since many years. For the selection and employment of foreign
seamen we are using the services of one of the the biggest and
best crewing agents. In total we employ up to 300 seamen.
